The Weekly Blague

We Are 100,000 NYC Strong

Mary Lyn Maiscott and Robert Rosen at the end of the New York City "No Kings" march. Photo by Laura Bell.

There we are, Mary Lyn Maiscott and I, at 14th Street and 7th Avenue, in New York City, at the end of the October 18 "No Kings" march. We joined more than 100,000 other New Yorkers for the obvious reasons. We are in favor of democracy, rule of law, and truth. We oppose fascism, authoritarianism, corruption, and the Trump administration. To say, as Trump and his lackies have said, that the seven million people across the U.S. who took part in the "No Kings" protests "hate America" is absurd. We hate what America has become under a power-mad bigot who wants to rule America like a king.

The sign I'm carrying was handed to me by a woman (apparently a Soros-funded antifa sign-maker) who had a few extras.

Look for Mary Lyn and Laura Bell's "No Kings" photos in The Village Voice. And come to Berlin Under A, in the East Village, Tuesday, December 2, for Mary Lyn's first live performance in more than a year. Among the songs she'll be singing is her anti-Trump anthem, "When Hell Freezes Over."
